Lydia Patrick

Lydia Patrick

Lydia Patrick is a technologist, writer and presenter. She founded Webclearly LLC in 2011. The company focuses on accessible, mobile Websites and social media for small businesses and nonprofits. She writes the Tech Trends column for the local Patch online papers. She serves on the advisory council for the Community Nonprofit Portal, which includes a wide variety of sectors: academics, corporate funders, government officials, nonprofits and volunteers.

She began working with the Fairfax Park Foundation in 2010. Previously, she worked for the Fairfax County Public Library where she directed Web and digital technologies, as well as public and staff computing.

Lydia received her Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in English from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and her Masters degree in Library and Information Science from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She continues to pursue her interest in information science and technology through active participation in the American Society of Information Scientists and the Information Architecture Institute. She was selected the Cybrarian for the State of Virginia and has been honored with a variety of awards and recognitions. She regularly makes presentations and gives training sessions on information technology topics.

A lifelong resident of Fairfax, Lydia and her husband Don live in Reston where they raised their three sons. Lydia regularly enjoys the parks, trails, lakes and recreation areas in Fairfax. Elle, her elderly English Bulldog, accompanies her on as many walks as possible.
