Chip and his wife, Barbara Comstock, have been residents of Mclean Virginia for 28 years where they have raised their three children Danny, Peter and Caity. During that time, Chip has worked as a mathematics teacher at Langley, Mclean and Falls Church High School and is currently in his eleventh year as an assistant principal at Oakton High School.
Chip has coached both youth soccer and basketball. He served on the board of Highlands Swim and Tennis Club as treasurer and was the manager of Highlands Swim and Tennis Club for seven years. While living in Potomac Hills, Chip served on the Potomac Hills Citizen Association Board and was active in the neighborhood watch.
Chip received his Bachelors of Mathematic Education from Southwest Texas State University and his Master of Education Administration from Virginia Tech. He currently is a member of the Optimist Club of Greater Vienna and is the librarian for the Potomac River Smallmouth Bass Club. He also has been a member of the Friends of Riverbend Park, Friends of the Shenandoah River, and is a supporter of the Shenandoah Riverkeepers. Chip joined the Fairfax County Park Foundation board in 2010. He enjoys fly fishing all along the Potomac River and has an interest in the development and maintenance of the many trails in Fairfax County Parks.
